Greetings from charming and austere, old-fashioned and genuinely modern, overall wonderful Moscow!
I came to live in Moscow when I was ten and was completely baffled by this city, which seemed imposing, severe and frantic. But as it takes time for the flower to blossom it takes time for the city to unfold its charm. In contrast to grand and imposing monuments there exist attractive little mansions, wide avenues border on narrow winding side streets, and for each big open square there is a park full of flowers. This lively controversy is what I admire most about Moscow.
I have always been fascinated by the romantic side of Moscow. If you want to get a glimpse of more laid back, quiet places, I'd be happy to show them to you and share the stories of people who once lived there, of events which were supposed to happen but did not.
So let me invite you on a friendly tour around some of Moscow historical estates. You'll see completely restored, renovated and medieval mansions, which have found their place amid lush parks and gardens in persent day Moscow. And maybe you will let yourself be won over by this amazing city.
