Marrakech is a former imperial city of Morocco. It has always been known as a pleasure city and market place. It's a city of immense beauty. The great square of Djemaa-el-Fna is a bus station and stores of restaurants selling kebabs, tajines, fish, meat, vegetables, sweets and drinks. The souks of Marrakesh, covering a square kilometre, sell everything from carpets and herbs to jewellery and clothes.
The most famous landmark in Marrakech is the Koutoubia Mosque which was built in the 12th century. I can take you to see the 16th century Saadian Tombs, Bahia palace - a masterpiece of domestic architecture - in addition to medersa ben youssef and the museum of marrakeck nearby.
A great part of our tour is to take a horse-drawn carriage around the outside of the city walls. The wall was constructed in the 12th century and form a circuit of six miles with about 200 towers and 20 gates. We can also visit gardens such as Majorelle garden with many varied trees and exotic plants. |
