Join me on a walking tour of the Old City of Jerusalem, touching on its 4 main Quarters and religious sites for Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
The tour focuses on the historical development of the city through the ages from the Kingdom of David to present day, with a strong emphasis on periods of the Bible and Middle Ages which which define Jerusalem's main visible character.
I'll cover the development of symbols, of events, the characters involved and the architecture that shows the identifiable signs of the past eras.
This tour is suitable for pilgrims of any faith as the time will be adjusted to spend more of the available time in the sites more relevant to you.
This is a tour of Jerusalem for 1 to 20 people. The price is not dependent on the number of participants in your party.
The duration of the tour can be as short or as long as you feel you can manage, but can be from a minimum of 4 hours to a maximum of 10. |

Most places in Jerusalem will accept US$, a fair number will accept Euros. Few other currencies will be readily accepted in most restaurants or cafe's or for entrance fees where applicable. New Shekels are Israel's currency and accepted anywhere. |

| The Old city is not exhausting but constructed on hills with narrow medieval and earlier streets full of bazaars and crowds. There are a great number of steps and no alternative accesses to many of the sites, however, my route can be virtually all downhill. |

Kid Friendly: Yes. Tots in a pushchair or in a back carrier are fine. Teenagers are fine, although some kids find historical and religious sites as well as details of architecture extremely boring.
This is not designed as a kids' tour but sites really fun for kids can be included in itinerary if booked well in advance, and includes additional entrance fees for additional or alternative sites. |
