After meeting you at the ship you will be through through Nanaimo westward to the Cathedral Grove. Here, nestled in the interior mountains of Vancouver Island, you will have time to admire the giant Douglas Firs and learn about the in inner workings of the west coast rain-forests that once covered the island. Then we will hpe in the van for a short drive to the little town of Qualicum Beach and Milner Gardens. Here, you will have the opportunity to relax in a magnificent woodland garden that mixes Vancouver Island's natural forest with superbly tended gardens. You can have a marvelous high tea in the main house where Charles and Diana, the Prince and Princess of Wales once stayed. In fact, the Queen herself, once spent 3 days here. Finally I will return you to your ship in plenty of time for your departure and the rest of your cruise. Remember that we will go at your pace. Because the tour is personalized, we can change plans on a whim, if you like.
First, since this is a personalized tour, we will have lots of flexibility for you to take advantage of opportunities that come up, or changes of mind and so on. Otherwise, I will meet the boat that takes you from the ship to the shore. I aim for 9:30 AM. After introductions, we will drive westward for about an hour to Cathedral Grove. After spending about 30-40 minutes walking along the trails, admiring the enormous trees and learning about the way the forest grows, we will depart for the Town of Qualicum Beach and Milner Gardens. We will stroll around the gardens admiring the flowers before stopping for tea. "Tea" also includes scones and bite-sized sandwiches. The meal is a bit late as the tea room doesn't open until 1:00PM. You you might want to bring a snack, or we can stop somewhere. After tea we can browse at the gift shop, check out more of the gardens, or do a whistle-stop tour back to the harbour.

Sometimes the tender is late. So the tour starts late. Tea or lunch at Coombs can be slow if there are lots of people.
