Nice to meet you. My name is Simone. I was born in Munich in 1966 and have lived here with my family most of my life. At the age of 16 I had the opportunity to spend two years in California. An experience that has influenced my life ever since. Not only did I learn (and learn to love) the English language and the friendly and relaxed atmosphere, it also broadened my view on both my hometown and origin.
Having been an English teacher for the past decade I wanted to extend my field a bit further and become a tour guide, as I love to meet new people from all over the world and show them MY Munich. Strolling around this city (or as some call it, the village with a million inhabitants) is really fun and all the famous sights are quite close together downtown! There is so much to discover: we can visit the Gothic Frauenkirche or the Theatinerkirche that brought Munich the Italian Baroque, a Renaissance palace or the medieval court. Or would you rather try a glass of beer at the Hofbräuhaus, eat out in one of our famous Beer Gardens or go shopping at the Viktualienmarkt, a beautiful market where you can find the finest cheese, spices, fruit and vegetables, flowers and local craftsmanship?
We could also take a ride in the old-fashioned Tram (cable-car) and hop on and off to discover the various sights.
Or would you rather visit the fairy-tale castle of Neuschwanstein? I could take you on a day-trip through the wonderful countryside and show you the castle, picturesque villages and amazing churches on the way, while you just lean back and enjoy.
When giving tours, my approach is always to give you a very personal, private tour and therefore an individual experience. It's not the amount of sites we "tick off", it is about why has this church been built, who is the king that turned his dreams into stunning reality. I want to show you my cultural heritage and let you be part of it.
No matter if you are here for just a short period of time or a whole week - I will show you this wonderful city at your own pace, according to your wishes. Please feel free to contact me for any further information.
