Mountain Adventure Series - Cucamonga Peak |
Visit one of the highest front range peaks with amazing views from the rooftop of the Inland Empire. |

Standing on Cucamonga Peak is like standing on the roof of the Inland Empire. This 8, 858 ft front-range peak rises thousands of vertical feet immediately from the gentle sloping alluvial fans of the valley. The trailhead is at ice house canyon just past Mt. Baldy Village. After 4. 5 of hiking, you reach a beautiful trail junction of Icehouse Canyon saddle, where you have several options of other peaks to climb. Another 2. 5 miles from this location will bag the summit, only after some serious elevation gain. The views from atop are very dramatic as you are able to look down into deep canyons and across the never ending expanse of the cities below. The boulder strewn summit itself is really neat and offers some cool places to camp. Descending the trail is really hard on your knees and only those in excellent shape are advised to attempt this. To do this trip right, you need all day. Total elevation gain is 4, 300 ft in 7 miles. |

| This trip is best started early in the day, especially during the summer months. We can meet early for breakfast and head out or head straight there following pick-up. Backpacking and spending the night on the summit is also an option and will be charged as a two day tour. |
| Meet up location: • Rendezvous or meeting locations are dependent upon the clients travel accommodations and location of residency or lodging, in comparison to the destination. As fuel cost is factored into my drive time, I am ok with picking up the client as long as they are within a 20 mile radius of my house or the destination. Anything over a 20 mile radius, there will be an additional charge for fuel, per mile driven. |
| End location: • The customer will be returned to their originally agreed upon pick-up location, unless different arrangements are made. |
| Duration: 8 hours |
| Rain or storm clouds may hender or prohibit the hike. If you are in good shape, I believe this hike can be done in around 8 hours' time, however it could take longer. |
| I am not a licensed driver, however, I can hire a properly licensed car/driver if requested. |

| 20 dollars - This estimate is for one person and takes into consideration money for snacks, water, and food during and after the trip. |
• Fuel is included in the price of the tour, enroute to and from the destination. At no extra cost, I will pick up the client as long as they are within a 20 mile radius of my house or the destination. Anything over a 20 mile radius, there will be an additional charge for fuel per mile driven. • Any parking passes or parking admission fees are included in the cost of the tours. • A flexible schedule. • If the tour runs over schedule within reason (An hour, to hour and a half), often times I will not charge anything for the overage. • Complimentary bottled water and snacks for the drive. - I have enough of my own gear to provide one or two people with some equipment. This will be coordinated prior to meeting. |
• Food, rentals, and admission fees are extra and clients will be informed of potentials cost prior to or following booking. • For a reasonable fee, I will capture the memories of your trip by creating a DVD compilation video that contains movie clips and pictures of your excursions set to music. |

| Transportation Method: Allow me to pick you up and navigate through stressful traffic to our destinations while riding in my comfortable 2009, air-conditioned, full-cab, Toyota Tacoma truck (with a good sound system), which has plenty of hauling capacity for gear, bikes, kayaks, and luggage, etc. Comfortably it will seat 4, but I can accommodate 5 and that includes me as the driver. |
