At first we are to walk through the Red Square and visit St. Basil Cathedral, Lenin's mausoleum and the GUM - the beautiful 19th century shopping center in the Red Square. We'll get to the look out at the Sofia embankment to enjoy a beautiful panorama of the the Old fortress (the Kremlin) from beyond the Moscow river, and talk about the history of the citadel, the country and its rulers. We'll see Moscow state university, the famous Bolshoy theater, the notorious KGB building, we'll visit the largest Moscow cathedral - Christ the Saviour. We'll walk along the city's boulevards - the Gogolevsky, Nikitsky, Tverskoy. We can drop into the Ryabushinsky house which is the art nouveau masterpiece or Leo Tolstoy house where the great writer, his wife and their children lived from 1882 to 1901. Then we can take a metro to get to the Novodevichy convent. You'll see the best of Moscow metro stations on the way. |
