| Tour Guide Legal Requirements |
Tour guiding is a regulated profession in Morocco - guides, drivers and vehicles must be licensed to work with travellers. Guides are licensed according to the district and activity they work in - for example, you may be licensed as a mountain guides, Marrakech city guide, etc. Each wears a badge showing they are licenced in the district.
Drivers and their vehicle must be registered and carry their permits. Both drivers and vehicles are checked twice yearly before the permit is renewed. Police checkpoints regularly stop and check for the correct paperwork. In some places, drivers cannot act as a guide.
