Masada is ancient palaces and fortifications on top of an isolated rock plateau, on the eastern edge of the Judean Desert. After the First Jewish-Roman War a siege of the fortress by troops of the Roman Empire led to the mass suicide of the Sicarii rebels.

Full day Masada, Ein Gedi, and the Dead Sea. Early departure for the lowest place on earth, the dead sea. passing the caves of Qumran, where the dead sea scrolls were found. Arrive at Masada, ascend by cable car to the fortress-palace of Herod, which later became the last stronghold of the zealots in their struggle against Rome. Walk through its palaces, store rooms, steam Bath, synagogue and more. Proceed with the excitement on top of the fortress. Descend and arrive at Ein Gedi for an optional swim at the hot springs and dead sea. Return to Jerusalem or Tel Aviv.
