Luzhi is an old but extremely beautiful water town. With a history of more than 2500 years, it has been awarded the great name of 'the first water town in China'.
The natural beauty of the town is indescribable. Old stone bridges, limpid water, venerable maidenhair trees and old-style dwellings, as well as the traditional women's costumes, create an ideal 'civilized, rich, pastoral and harmonious' environment. Many travellers from all over the world enjoy the peace and tranquillity. In addition, Luzhi town is noted for several historical and cultural relics, such as Baosheng temple, the Wansheng Rice Company and the White Lotus Flower Temple of the North Song Dynasty.
Another feature of the town is the distinctive traditional costume worn by the women. Both clothes and trousers are characteristically pieced together using different cotton materials in a variety of designs.
Luzhi is gifted with favorable terrain and outstanding people. It faces the Wusong River to the north and the Chenghu Lake to the south, and borders on Kunshan City to the east, and Suzhou to the west.
Luzhi was famed to be the Venice of the East for its beautiful waterways and ancient bridges, some of the bridges dated back to the Song Dynasty. A walk in the ancient town Luzhi is said to be a walk into history frozen in time, tranquil and serene.
Itinerary:
Be picked up at your hotel at 9AM.
You will take a coach about 1. 5 hours to reach Luzhi water town. Upon arrival, you will pay a visit at Baoshen temple, South China culture garden, Yeshentao Memorial hall, Shen Residence.
In the afternoon, continue to visit at Waishenkai Rice store, Xiaofangfang Former residence Zhangling park.
Enjoy a boat tour before leaving the town.
Finally, you will be transferred back to Shanghai. End of your unforgettable trip.
