The Valley of the Kings is a valley in Egypt where tombs were constructed for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. Valley of the kings was the kingdom of Osiris, god of the underworld. From its grand tombs filled with treasures and decorated with magnificant art, the Egyptian pharaohs believed they would embark on a journey in which they would meet the gods in the afterlife and achieve immortality.
The Temple of Deir El-Bahri is one of the most characteristic temples in the whole of Egypt, due to its design and decorations. The Temple was built for the great Queen Hatshepsut to commemorate her achievements and to serve as a mortuary Temple for her, as well as a sanctuary of the God, Amon Ra.
Perhaps the most imposing monument on the West Bank at Luxor are the famous 'Colossi of Memnon'. These massive statues which once flanked the entrance to Amenhotep III's mortuary temple now stand virtually alone in a field at the side of the road to the valley of the kings. |

We will begin our tour at the agreed time (mostly, it will be 07.00 am).
We will drive to valley of the kings in the west bank of Luxor. In this valley, you can visit only three tombs per ticket(some tombs reguire additional tickets like the tomb of Tut Ankh Amon). After that, we will visit the mortuary temple of queen Hatshepsut.
We will finish our tour in the west bank by visiting the famous two colossi of Memnon.
Then, we drive back again to the east bank where I will drop you off at the place I picked you up. |
