Francisco Pizarro founded Lima, the capital of Peru, a city of 9 million people, in the 16th century as the City of Kings. Known for its historic buildings, monuments, colonial and republican architecture, you will see the elegant past of this beautiful city.
In our tour we will walk around the Plaza de Armas where you will see the Presidential Palace, The Cathedral, Archbishop palace and the City Hall. In addition, we will tour San Martin square, known for its colonial architecture, Jiron de la Union with the Lady Merci Church and its impressive facade. Last but not least, we will tour the San Francisco monastery and its catacombs.
Afterwards, my Mothers will delight your sense of taste with her Peruvian gastronomy. She will teach you how to make "Ceviche", one of Peru's well-known dishes. At the same time I will teach you how to make the perfect Pisco Sour.
We will start visiting the Cathedral of Lima, and San Francisco Church, and walk around the most important building in Lima Downtown.
Then we are going to taste original peruvian food by Danmar Leyton (Co-Author of the DVD "From the Heart of Peru - My Mother's Kitchen).
