We take a unique route to Southern Utah, where there will be interesting history and unique scenery to explore within a short distance from St. George in Utah's Dixie. We'll talk about the native tribes and the Mormon pioneers of the area and see what they created. We'll have views above town and down in scenic valleys. The morning tour includes the Jacob Hamblin home and other pioneer things in Santa Clara, and some unique Indian petroglyphs on a hill overlooking the Santa Clara River. After lunch, we'll drive by a unique outdoor amphitheater and then see pioneer carvings and amazing red and white cliffs, not to mention a walking opportunity in Snow Canyon, volcanoes and lava flows, more views and exploring possibilities at Chuckawalla Trail and on the Sugar Loaf, and a quick tour of the interesting sites of St. George, including the Brigham Young home, the art museum, the St. George Temple, and the Town Square. |
