Klang Gates Quartz Ridge is special for several reasons. First it stretches for about 14 km long, 50m wide, more than 400 metres high at certain stretches, and it is also the longest quartz ridge in the world The ridge is made up of four different types of quartz, home to indigenous wild goat the serow, and endemic flora found nowhere else in the world. It's an UNESCO-worthy world heritage site. Second it's one of my favourite adventure hikes. Bukit Tabur(Tabur Hill) as the locals call it has been a local favorite hiking spot for regular and new visitor due to the easy access and natural richness nearby the city of Kuala Lumpur. Walk along the trail, enjoy the breathtaking views of Kuala Lumpur skyline on your left and the reservoir on your right where the ridge splits the natural and urban world. The ridge offers panoramic views from an assortment of angles. Be sure to bring along your camera or video recorder to capture your journey atop the rocky ridge. |

1) Suggest pickup from hotel in Kuala Lumpur at 6. 30am
2) Arrive foothill at 7am
3) Start to hike up at 7. 15am after some warmups, brief of terrain and safety aspects
4) Spend about 2 to 3 hrs on the peak (might be more/less depends on hiking speed)
5) Back to foothill at 10. 30am (estimate)
6) Back to hotel at 11. 15am (depends on traffic)
Note: 1)For safety reasons, hike will be cancelled if it rains heavily.
