This is a trip to the Konopiste castle; once a home to the successor to the throne of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Archduke Ferdinand, who was assassinated, along with his beloved wife, in June of 1914 in Sarajevo, Bosnia. This attempt became the "official" reason to declare the World War One! It is so well preserved that the castle, itself, looks just like its owners left for their final trip to Sarajevo only yesterday! Along the way we drive through the beautiful countryside South of Prague.
This tour is not available between October 31st until end of March! The rest of the tourist season, the castle is closed on Mondays!! |

You will be picked up at your hotel in Prague or some other, mutually agreed upon, place and then we go straight to Konopiste Castle which is located about 28 Miles SE of Prague. Upon our arrival, we'll walk (uphill)through a beautiful park area, for about half a Mile to get to the castle itself. Here you will absolve the tour of its interiors, see the bears in its courtyard's compound, and enjoy a breathtaking views of the surrounding areas.
You should be back at your hotel in Prague in about 4 - 5 hrs. |
