Take around 1 hour by the bullet train from Shanghai Hongqiao to Hangzhou.
the 1st day-focus on the scenery
Drink the beauty of the West Lake by hiking or cycling around, take a wooden boat for a round cruise to the islet, then visit the spots such as Leifeng Pagoda, Ling Yin Temple (Temple of the Soul's Retreat), Xiling Seal Engravers Society etc. by the lake. Have lunch/dinner at a reputable traditional restaurant which serves fine local flavors.
the 2nd day-focus on the culture
Take a tourist bus or taxi to the Dragon Well tea plantation, go into a garden where was the original place for the tea, and visit the villager to see the processing of tea. Savor the fresh green tea, and buy several grams as courtesy. Visit an ancient street with kinds of traditional stores demonstrated "tea culture, medicine culture and food culture".
