This half day tours allows you to experience the wonders of Guimarães and feel the spirit of where the nation was born!
With its historical center declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Guimarães adds this mark of honour to another title it displays by right, that of birthplace of the nation.
Visit its proud and dominating castle was where Portugal's first king, Afonso Henriques, was born in the 12th century and the Palace of the Dukes to see a spectacular collection of Renaissance pieces and Baroque furniture, Chinese and Indo-Portuguese porcelain, Flemish tapestries and Persian rugs.
Continue to the newly distinguished historical center which is extremely well preserved where the narrow streets of the Medieval quarter are lined with old houses embellished by ornate balconies and statuary, tiled churches, historic monuments all leading to the beautiful main square, the Largo da Oliveira.
There will be some free time to shop and explore on your own.
Your tour concludes upon your return to Porto. |

Depart the pier by private van to Guimarães where you will visit the Palace of the Dukes and the 10th century Guimarães Castle continuing to the historic centre to discover the unique churches, beautiful squares and winding streets. There will be some free time for shopping afterwards.
