The Golden Circle is the most popular tour in Iceland and for a good reason! You'll see some spectacular and iconic Icelandic sights relatively close to each other.
The 250 km (150 mile) route includes the Parliament Plains National Park (Þingvellir) which was the site of the ancient Iceland Parliament established in 930 AD. It also includes a spouting spring at the Geysir geothermal area, and a magnificent waterfall Gullfoss (Golden waterfall). |

Golden Circle Tour (6. 5 hours). Depart Reykjavik in the morning for the Parliament Plains National Park, Iceland's most historical place. Then head to the Geysir Geothermal Area which is famous for its spouting spring before exploring the Golden Waterfall, Iceland's most famous waterfall. Return to Reykjavik via birch woodland and lava fields.
For those in a hurry - the Golden Circle can be done in 4 hours. However, please note, it takes 3 hours to drive the distance - 250 km (150 miles) under best road conditions while keeping to the speed limit. This tour, with a competent guide, is worth more than four hours of your time spent in Iceland.
