The Danakil or Dallol depression is one of the hottest place in this planet and it is one of the lowest spot on African continent.
The Danakil is tectonically active and complex area on our planet. It is an area studded wit active volcanoes, malodorous sulphur caked hot springs, solidified black lava flows and vast salt-encrusted basins.
The depression was the main source of the salt bars used as a currency throughout Ethiopia for more than 1000 years. Everyday more than 5000 camels arrive and depart with salt bars from the Danakil to the central highland. This is the best place in the world to long chained camel caravans of camels.
Erta Ale volcano ranks as one of the most alluring and physically challenging natural attractions anywhere in Ethiopia.It is a shield volcano with a base diameter of 30 km and 1 km square caldera at its summit. Erta Ale contains the world's only permanent lava lake.

Day 1: Arrival at Addis Ababa, transfer to Hotel. City tour of Addis Ababa Day 2: Addis Ababa - Bilen (village of Afar nomadic people) drive. Day 3: Bilen - Logia drive. Day 4: Logia - Afdera drive visit the salt mine. Day 5: Afdera- Kusrowad drive and walk to Erta Ale Volcano, camping.
Day 6: Return from Ertale to the base camp and drive to Hamad Ela. reach Hmad Ela, better village with a total population about 500 people. Over night camping.
Day 8: Full day around Hamad Ela. Drive to Dallol and the salt mine and see the camel caravan. Day 9: Hamad Ela - Barahale - Makale. The is a drive to get out of the Danakil depression, Axum Hotel. Day 10: Makale - Addis Ababa fly, city tour of Addis Ababa and over night. Day 11 : Departure
Where and When:
Meet up location: The meeting point with clients is always at Addis Ababa internatiional Airport up on their arrival to Ethiopia.
End location: The last point, at the trip to leave the clients is when they are back to the air port for their flight back to their country.

This trip is very sensetive for climatical factors of the year. Since this is one of the 5 hottest places on earth, you can not do it allways in the year. You can do it only when the temprature is low(lower than 45 degree centigrade). Normally the temprature is raising above 52 degree centigrade. Between November and March is the best time of the year for this trip.
