My name is Tony and I live in Wimbledon, South London. I come from Southampton, on the south coast, originally. I met my wife at Teachers Training College in Kingston upon Thames and we decided to live in the London area ever since. Being part of Greater London, it certainly is a vibrant and exciting place to live. Anywhere in central London is only a matter of minutes away on the underground or local commuter train.
I have been teaching for many years now and absolutely love taking groups and individuals on day trips to various parts of London. I have always had a passion for taking friends to see unusual and different places that they might not have experienced before.
When I was very young, studying history at school, I used to love imagining being there. To actually go to a place that resonated with stories from the past was like time travelling. I always felt I became a part of it. Visiting Jane Austen's house at Chawton or going on board Nelson's flag ship, The Victory, at Portsmouth, or touching the walls of a house Charles Dickens actually lived in, gave me - and still does! - an amazing thrill.
I would love to take you to see the places Jane Austen or Charles Dickens knew or take you on a time travelling experience through the streets of London uncovering the many layers of English history. London is a modern vibrant city and it is good to experience the atmosphere and enjoy the sites
I have a passion for where I live and I have my ideas for exciting trips that I could take you on. Of course, you too will have your ideas of what you would like to see and experience - I'd love to hear them!
