On this tour we drive down to the Dead Sea and the Judean desert to hike in the Ein Gedi nature reserve to a series of waterfalls. The desert is hot but we will be able to cool off by enjoying the pools at the base of the waterfalls. This is a hike in nature and we should be able to see ibex, a kind of mountain goat, that live here.
This tour can be extended to a full day to include a float in the Dead Sea and even a visit to the mountain fortress at Masada.
Number of people is limited by the mode of transportation. |

We will hike Nahal David in the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve.
We will have an opportunity to swim/splash in natural pools under a waterfall.
Hopefully, we will see the animals that live in the reserve. |

| Meet up location: I will meet you at your hotel in Jerusalem and we will drive down to Ein Gedi together. |

| End location: After the hike we will return by car to your hotel in Jerusalem. |

The hiking/swimming in Ein Gedi is about 3 hours with 2 1/2 hours travel.
If the tour is extended to include a float in the Dead Sea and/or visit to Masada then the duration is 8-10 hours. |

| 200 NIS - There are entrance fees to the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve (~$8. per adult), Masada (~$18. including the cable car) and Dead Sea private beaches (~$12.) Cash for a drink or snack afterwards. |

| If you're interested, the remains of an ancient synagogue from the 4th C with a very interesting mosaic floor. |
|
Admission fees to sites are not included but paid by the client on a per person basis.
The tour as listed does not include transportation from Jerusalem to Ein Gedi. Depending on whether you have a rented car, need a car and driver or want to take public buses will affect your cost. |

The tour of Herodium was awe-inspiring, largely because of Shmuel Browns, our guide. He is highly knowledgeable, and comes equipped with graphic documentation that fills the gaps of what one sees.
