This five nights and six days exhilarating tour of Kutch, the second largest district of India, after Leh, will sweep the traveller into another world, through the remarkable excavations of the Indus Valley Civilization or Harappan culture, dating back to 4500 years ago and the Maritime capital of Mandvi.
The journey to Dholavira itself is beautiful, taking you through the saline desert plains of the Great Rann, where you can spot wildlife such as chinkara gazelle, nilgai (blue bull, the largest antelope in Asia), flamingos and other bird life.
Mandvi by the Arabian Sea was the maritime capital of Kutch. It has the majestic Vijay Vilas palace and the only private beach of the Maharao of Kutch with a stretch of 2kms. Mandvi Ship building yard, even today builds the Dhows that once sailed from Kutch to places as far as Africa, the middle east or Indonesia. |

Day 1 - PM: Arrive from Mumbai and you are received at any Airport in Kutch. Bhuj sight seeing (Picture # 1 & 2)
Day 2 - AM: Bhuj sight seeing and PM: Transfer to Dholavira - the site for Harrapan Civilization (Picture # 3).
Day 3 - AM: Entire day at Dholavira excavation site (Picture # 4 & 5).
Day 4 - AM: Return to Bhuj and PM: local Kutchi Handicraft shopping (Picture # 6).
Day 5 - AM: Transfer to Mandvi and visit to Ship building yard and PM: Vijay Vilas Palace and the Maharao's private Beach by the Arabian sea (Picture # 7 & 8).
Day 6 - AM: Maharao of Kutch's private forest reserve and lake Pragsar home to hundreds of crocodiles (Picture # 9) and PM: Return flight to Mumbai from any Airport in Kutch. |
