This amazing walk will allow you to get a real feel for the glorious mountain terrain in British Columbia - without having to, um ... well, climb a mountain.

You'll take great photographs on the way and experience one of Vancouver's hidden jewels, the vibrant town of Deep Cove.

Altogether, the hike will be about 6 km from the heart of Deep Cove to the Indian Arm Lookout at 'The Rock' including the return trip. The dirt trail is up and down with stairs, roots and rocks to keep you on your toes. Overall, it is flat compared to many North Shore Hikes, but expect to huff and puff a bit. You don't need to be super fit to do this, but you should be comfortable walking for up to three hours.

Rain or shine, this is a great experience and we will proceed in all weather conditions. Good footwear and a rain jacket or windbreaker is recommended on days that might rain.

We'll stop for a drink and a snack on the Rock and finish up with a famous Honey's Doughnut as a reward at the end. You'll feel great afterwards!

  Itinerary:
Once we've connected, we'll drive to Deep Cove in a luxury sedan with 4 extra seat belts. 25 minutes later, we'll arrive and park in Deep Cove.

You'll see a quaint main street and its unique businesses. Take a few photos to mark the start of our walk.

Once underway, we'll see the marina and beach and walk through Panorama Park to the well hidden entrance to the Baden Powell trail. You may see kayaks heading out to Indian Arm, too.

The trail starts with a set of civilized stairs that degrade to uncivilized roots and rocks before leveling out. One way, the hike will be 2-3 kilometers.

Some of the amazing trail building will make otherwise rough sections of trail quite passable. We'll cross numerous bridges over burbling creeks.

We'll emerge at 'The Rock', an amazing and exposed overlook above Deep Cove and the Indian Arm waterway. The view is spectacular. A rest with snack and drink will give you energy for the return trip.

Back in Deep Cove, we'll reward ourselves with a classic Honey's Doughnut. Yum!
