A trip to Cuernavaca stoping in the famous restaurant-hotel boutique Las Mañanitas, a must see in the state of Morelos the gardens are awesome with exotic birds like peacocks and jungle parrots. It's adviced to depart early from Mexico city, so you can take breakfast in there. We'll see downtown Cuernavaca with the Palace of Cortes its museum and the murals of Diego Rivera the Borda gardens, the cathedral and the Brady museum. We'll continue towards the prehispanic fortress of Xochicalco a place where astronomers of mesoamerican cultures might have a meeting to make a calendar correction. Also it's astronomical cave, an impressive place that transport you to the concept of underworld. Our last stop is Taxco with it's beautiful baroque church of Santa Prisca and the world famous silver shops scattered all over Taxco and late evening we'll return to Mexico City.
It is possible to do a variation to this tour, visiting the cacahuamilpa caves the most impresive and big caves in Mexico. |

Palace of Cortes the conqueror of Mexico and actually the museum of the State of Morelos (except on Mondays).
Brady Museum with it's impressive collection (except on Mondays).
Archaeological zone of Xochicalco with it's "Acropolis".
The pyramid of Quetzalcoatl and it's impresive stone carvings on it's sides if it's possible the Observatory cave with the ball court.
In Taxco free time and visit to the market and the Church of Santa Prisca and a walking tour of the town's center. |
