Our tour starts on the North Shore at the world famous Capilano Suspension Bridge where we join the millions of visitors who have crossed bridge since 1889.
The original bridge was constructed of hemp rope and cedar planks. Today's is made of steel rope and is 450 feet (137m) long suspended 230 feet (70m) above the canyon floor.
As well as the bridge, there's lots to do, including Totem Park, the First Nations Cultural Center, a rainforest walk and plenty of shopping and dining.
From the bridge, we head further up the road to the Grouse Mountain Sky Ride for a 12 minute 900 metre (2700 ft) ride up the mountain.

Drive to Capilano Suspension Bridge, explore the 27 acre park.
Head up to the base of Grouse Mountain for the Sky Ride
Relax at the top - have a beverage and see some of the various attractions.
Take the Grouse Mountain Skyride down to the bottom (12 minute ride, but there is the possibility of a wait depending upon the time of day and if the weather is fine).
Return to your hotel. |

Cost of admission to the Capilano Suspension Bridge (regular price for an adult is $34, less for children). However, because I have a membership, the cost will be reduced by 15%).
Cost of the Grouse Mountain Sky Ride (regular price for an adult is $45 including tax, less for children). However, because I have a membership, the cost will only be $22.50 (for up to 4 people).
If the number of passengers is greater than 3, there is an $80 additional cost for a larger vehicle. |
