You will depart the Lonsdale Quay in style and be driven up to park at the Salmon Hatchery parking lot. Depending on timing and weather, we will either start or finish with a visit to the Hatchery.
We'll hike trails downstream to couple beautiful river overlook stops along the way. Altogether, this will be about a 5km hike.
The Pipeline Bridge is a remote footbridge 70 feet above the River below. It offers great views at a bend in the canyon.
From here, we'll hike the Shinglebolt Trail up through the mossy green forest towards the Cleveland Dam.
At the Dam, we'll walk across the top stopping to view the Lions across the Reservoir and check out the spillway roaring into the canyon below.
On the return hike, we'll see old growth forest featuring bark one foot deep AND a stop at the second overlook.
