This full day tour is to the holiday, coastal town of Hermanus. Hermanus sits right on the sea cliffs and is famous for land-based whale watching (in season). The tour route follows the beautiful False Bay coast line, arguably one of the best scenic drives in the Western Cape. On the way we will stop at the Harold Porter Botanical Garden in Betty's Bay. In Hermanus your guide will show you the sights of this quaint town and its many attractions. Lunch will be at a restaurant built into an old San dwellers cave right on the seafront. In the afternoon you will have several options (at own cost): a boat trip or wine tasting at a local wine estate or beer tasting at a brewery nearby. Our return trip will be over the mountains through the fruit growing region of Elgin and Grabouw. |

| After collection in Cape Town our route heads east. We will follow the False Bay coastline along a wonderful, scenic drive sandwiched between the bay and the mountains. Our first stop is the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens in the hamlet of Betty's Bay. Here you will see the Cape Floral Kingdom at its best. In Hermanus we will see the various attractions of this picturesque seaside town, including the old harbour with its whaling history. We may be lucky enough to see whales or dolphins from the cliffs. Lunch is at a restaurant (wonderful seafood!) set into a cliffside cave once occupied by San people. Our afternoon activity is as you choose (see extra cost section) - 3 options are available. Note: Wine or beer tastings would apply if poor weather prohibits a boat trip. Our return to Cape Town is over the mountains past forests and orchards with a stop at a farm stall (with refreshments, momentos to purchase) |
