This 2 day shore excursion includes the highlights of both the cities and surroundings of Cairo and Alexandria.
On day 1, we will travel from Alexandria port to Cairo, visiting the great Pyramids - Sphinx - National Museum and a city overview tour. In the evening, we will return to your ship in Alexandria.
From Alexandria port we will travel to Cairo through the western desert road (2.5 hrs).
Our first stop will be in Giza and the necropolis of Memphis, the first capital of Egypt, where the tombs of the old kingdom's pharoahs, high officials and the workers are. We will have there three stops:
- Cheops complex (Cheops pyramid, three princess pyramids, tombs of the high officials).
- Chephren complex (Chephren pyramid, valley temple and funerary temple).
- Sphinx.
We will go to Cairo and visit the Egyptian museum. Our tour inside will take two hours and half, including an exhibit dedicated to the Tutankhamen collection of treasures.
On day 2, we will tour Alexandria, including: The Catacombs of Kom-Alshukafa Pompey's Pillar The Roman Theater The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Fine Art Museum Coastal City Tour Montazah palace and gardens The Church of St. Mark The Islamic complex Eliahou Halevi (or Hanabi) synagogue

This tour is best done in the early morning to get the best sightings and to avoid the heat of the day. The drive to Cairo is about 2.5 hours, depending upon traffic.
