On this "Journey of Contrasts" you are not only visiting the classic highlights of this volcanic tableland, you will also experience its contrasting landscapes with upland rainforest and dry open Eucalypt Bush. Marvel at unusual fig trees, crater lakes, scenic waterfalls, spectacular lookouts and historic towns. Finish the day off in the fascinating landscpae of Granite Gorge, where you can hand feed wild Rock Wallabies (small kangaroos).
This tour is designed for active people who are keen to experience this part of Australia hands-on and with all of their senses. Once arrived on the high plateau of the Atherton Tablelands we will be getting out of the vehicle quite often to photograph, see, touch, smell or listen to something. There is so much so experience that keen photographers easily take hundreds of shots on that tour alone.

Meet up location: I will meet you at your accommodation place in Cairns or the Northern Beaches. Or the cruise ship terminal.
End location: I will take you back to your accommodation place or any other place you wish to within Cairns and the Northern Beaches. Or the cruise ship terminal.
Duration: 13 hours
The duration of the tour can be adjusted to your individual needs. Normal pick-up is 7 am at your hotel in Cairns and 8 pm return. This is a long tour, but you will not want to miss out on a single minute. I had 86 year old guests who thoroughly enjoyed this tour.
If you are in a wheel chair the itinerary can be modified whilst maintaining the degree of experiences. If need be, a special vehicle for easy wheelchair access can be hired for the tour.
Kid Friendly: Yes. Children will have a ball discovering a great variety of interesting natural things, enjoy swinging on vines like Tarzan or climbing into the root system of fig trees, walking on narrow tracks through the djungel, swimming in a crater lake or hand feeding cute rock wallabies.
