Come with me and let me show you Hulunbeier, my home. I was born and grew up there.
Hulun Buir is the most beautiful Grasslands in China, it's around 100.000km2 which 80% are fields and Grasslands. It's 1000 m above the level of the sea. Breeding of cows, horses and sheeps is what these people are devoted to. We can find both Chinese and Mongolian language. The Minorities that live in this area are many the lifestyles are Mongolian shepherd's lifestyle.
This trip is fully recommended from the beginning of august (10th) when the grass is grown. During spring the wind is too strong to ride.
The winter even we have a very low temperature the snow turns the ride impressive. |

1st day Fly from Beijing to Hulun Buir. Walk down this city during the afternoon where Mongolians, Chinese and Manchurians live together. We will get ready the bicycles and taste the local dishes.
2nd and 3rd days on the road: we will see the grasslands, rivers and fields. On this road we meet some local shepherds and eat and sleep on the Mongolian tents.
4th day we reach Dalainuoer Lake on our way …
5th day Manzhouli; A Russian - Chinese community on the Russian border.
6th day Return flight to Beijing. |

we joined in on a trip she had arranged on the Great Wall. She knows how to get to the wild, unrestored parts that even the locals seldom see. Our trip that time included a night stay in a bed and breakfast type place where we experienced the real thing to the fullest living with the local people for a fraction of the cost of what other places would charge. Cleanliness and safety were always ensured wherever she took us.

Heidi’s specialty is finding great spots to hike and enjoy nature in the Beijing area, especially on unrestored portions of the Great Wall connecting undeveloped, “tourist-free” wilderness, farmland and villages. Heidi’s level of communication in English is basic. However, this does not pose a problem for the adventurous sort of person that enjoys her tours.
