Hi! My name is Steve and I am a professional tour guide here in the great state of Alaska. I have been guiding tours since 2002. I love my job my and the amazing experiences that it has afforded me. Alaska, aka "The Great Land" is a truly amazing place. Alaska is a land of towering mountains, sweeping glaciers, abundant wildlife, and ruggedly charming people. In short, ALASKA ROCKS! I am honored to be able to share with you my love of Alaska and all of its undeniable charms.
I am a full time resident of Anchorage which is the largest city and hub of the state. Anchorage is situated perfectly to serve as a base camp for exploring the many sights and activities Alaska has to offer. Anchorage is a fairly cosmopolitan city with world class restaurants, microbreweries, local art galleries, and museums. At the same time, a short 15 minute drive will bring you to the outskirts of the vast Alaskan wilderness.
I have been guiding tours of all sorts for over 11 years now. I have experienece guiding tours ranging from multi-day wilderness excursions to half day city tours around Anchorage. I am just as comfortable exploring the backcountry as I am enjoying a nice dinner out on the town. This versatility allows me to offer a wide range of experiences on my tours. I pride myself on being able to offer tours that are custom tailored to a particular groups interests. As a guide I also have a very relaxed style. We Alaskans like to take our time and enjoy life. My tours reflect this lifestyle.
In my free time I enjoy outdoor activities of all kinds. In the summer amongst other things, I love to hike, mountain bike, and play frisbee golf. Yes, frisbee golf! In the winter, I love to snowboard, snowshoe, cross-country ski, and watch the northern lights. I also love to do crosswords. I am a New York Times crossword puzzle fanatic. I enjoy socializing around town as well as enjoying time spent to myself on the trail.
Well, enough about me. I look forward to meeting you and sharing experiences together in the Last Frontier!
Cheers,
Steve
