Amber Fort also known as Amer Fort is located in Amber, 11 km from Jaipur, Rajasthan state, India. Amber Fort is located in Amber (Jaipur), which used to be the capital of the Kachhwaha clan, till Jaipur was made the official capital in 1727. The Amber Fort looks stunning, all-built in white marble and red sandstone. To add to its charm, Maotha Lake makes its foreground. The crystal mirror image of the Fort, on the still waters of the lake, seems to be a beautiful illusion. Amber Fort is usually pronounced as Amer Fort. In 1592, construction of the Fort was started by Raja Man Singh I. However, the Amber Fort took its present form during the reign of Raja Jai Singh I.

The best time to visit Amber Palace is morning time and we have to be there around 7. 00 a. m. and we have to walk in Amber Palace to cover the whole Amber Fort.

Ganeshpol - a fine portal covered with paintings, was built by Sawai Jai Singh. It leads into the inner Court where the royal apartments, rich with mosaics, marble and mirror work are grouped around an ornamental garden.
Diwan-i-Khas : Sheesh Mahal ( Glass Palace - Jai Mandir ) on account of its walls and ceilings which glitter with mirror and spangled work. Built by Mirza Raja Jai Singh, it comprises two oblong chambers with two smaller rooms surrounded by a verandah and arcades on either side.
Diwan-i-Am is the work of Jai Singh I and is remarkable building of its kind. The pillars have capitals shaped like elephant heads with raised trunks supporting the vaulted architecture.
